KENNEBUNK – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James Ellis Rowbotham, of Kennebunk, who left this world at the age of 76. He was born on Jan. 13, 1947, in Auburn, to Emily and Albert Rowbotham.
Jim, as he was known, was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend who touched the lives of many. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Graduating from Edward Little High School in 1965, Jim went on to study printing management at Rochester Institute of Technology, receiving his degree in 1969. In 1976, he crossed paths with the love of his life, Nancy, and together they crafted 47 years of deep and enduring love. He spent much of his life working in marketing and sales, but also had a love of philosophy, politics, and astronomy. He was a kind, gentle soul with a brilliant mind, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those he held dear.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents Emily and Albert.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy; daughter, Katherine, stepsons Christian and Lucien; two grandchildren; and five siblings.
The family would like to express their gratitude to all those who have shown love and support during this difficult time. Jim’s memory lives on, cherished and deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.
