The Maine Department of Labor’s CareerCenters are offering a variety of workshops and hiring events this month.

The first of three virtual workshops, Navigating Hiring Process for Individuals with a Criminal History, is scheduled for 1-2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6. To register, visit shorturl.at/jRSU4.

The second workshop, Searching for Work: Age 55+ With or Without Health & Physical Restriction, runs from 10-11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 19. To register, visit shorturl.at/gjVZ3.

The third workshop, Maine’s Employment & Training Program Info Session by Eastern Maine Development Corporation, runs from 3-4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24. To register, visit shorturl.at/gtvAP.

Several hiring events will be held in Lewiston and Auburn.

• Training Event: Veterans Resume and Cover Letter Class, 12:30-2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, Lewiston CareerCenter. Facilitators will go over the fundamentals of a good resume/cover letter and show how to translate and transfer one’s military experience.
