NORWAY – Ernest Frank Clifford, 92, of Norway passed away on Friday, Sept. 1, 2023, at his home. He was born in Grafton Township on Nov. 10, 1930, the son of Percy Frank and Maude Alice Vail Clifford. 

He served in the U.S. Army, mainly in Colorado, from 1953 to 1955.

He married Joyce Elaine Brackett in 1962 and they remained together until her death in September 2020.

He worked at A. C. Lawrence, Grover Gun Drilling, and was a woodsman for many years, operating his own small company. He was a member of the American Legion Stone-Smart Post #82. Ernest was also an avid carpenter, hunter, and fisherman.

He is survived by his daughters Carol Garrity and her husband Bill Garrity, Karen Smith and her husband Michael Smith, and his grandchildren Avery and Eaton Smith.

He was predeceased by his loving parents Percy and Maude Clifford; and his wife Joyce. 

At his request, the family will hold a small private ceremony at the gravesite.
