AUBURN – Sandra “Sandy” Conrad, went on to her Heavenly home from Androscoggin Hospice in Auburn. Her daughter was with her at the time. Her husband, children, grandkids and other family and friends were with her the night before. Mom died rather suddenly of lung cancer and had been hospitalized at CMMC.
Sandy was born in Trenton, N.J., to Lillian Guy and Theodore Muehleisen. She moved to Maine in 1968. Mom was a wonderful woman and a loving wife, mom and friend. She had a wonderful sense of humor, loved her cats dearly, enjoyed the ocean, ice cream, and much more. Sandy had a great work ethic and prior to retiring, had done secretarial work for various companies including: Lewiston Raceway, W.E. Cloutier, Gendron and Gendron, NorTrax, Medaphis and the Andover Town Office. Although she loved her jobs, she always said her family was her world and her actions reflected that.
Mom is predeceased by her loving mom, Lillian G. Guy, brother Ted Muehleisen, ex husband Jack Childs, former in laws Jack and Thelma Childs, Ernie and June Childs, Joseph Childs and Grant Conrad.
Sandy is survived by three children: Lori D’Amico, Jacqueline Childs – Willey and husband John, Scott Childs as well as Garth Conrad and family, Glenn Conrad and family and Martha Luttrell and family. Four grandchildren and several great-grandchildren in addition to numerous extended family and friends.
In accordance with her wishes, service was provided by Funeral Alternatives of Lewiston. Celebration of Life was held at Gippers. We thank them, as well as Andros. Hospice and CMMC for their service and caring.
