LEWISTON — The Lincoln Street Parking Garage at 16 Lincoln St. will undergo testing of its new computerized payment system beginning Oct. 16, according to city officials.
The system will be operational and parking arms fully functional during this test, Angelynne Amores, director of marketing and communication for Lewiston, said.
Drivers leaving the garage will see parking arms in the down position, requiring fees in the driver’s usual form of payment, Amores said.
Drivers encountering any issues can push the call button on the payment station.
Amores said the test is the city’s final one in bringing paid parking back to the city. If all runs smoothly, all municipal garages will go live with the new system.
Parking pass applications can be found at the city’s accounting department Monday through Friday form 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 27 Pine St. Applications can also be found at www.lewistonmaine.gov/parking.
