NORWAY — The ‘Healing After Loss’ Grief Support Group at The Table will be forming its next group to begin on October 12 at The Table, 160 Main Street in Norway, for anyone who is struggling with grief over a loss of any kind. For this course, the meetings will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. to allow for more people to be able to attend, especially those who work during the day.
There will be six sessions meeting weekly from 6:30 to 8 p.m. every Thursday. The group will learn about grief and the process of healing from a loss with guided discussions and open sharing. These meetings will be confidential.
The group is facilitated by Joan Spitzform, a professional Bereavement Counselor, with over nine years of experience leading Grief Support Groups at Androscoggin Home Health and Hospice. Until recently, Joan also served as a Level 1 On-Call Chaplain at Stephens Memorial Hospital.
To sign up for the October 12th Group or for more information, please contact Joan Spitzform at [email protected] or email The Table at [email protected]. Arrangements will be worked out for anyone who comes after the sessions have begun. Everyone is welcome and there is no charge.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
