Marshall R. Ducas
CANTON – Marshall R. Ducas, 86, of Mexico, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 5, 2023 at Pinnacle Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was the loving husband of Fran (Robitaille) Ducas.
He was born on March 2, 1937 in Rumford, a son of the late Joseph and Grace H. (Deschesne). He grew up in Rumford attending local area schools and graduated from Rumford High School. On Oct. 4, 1969, he married Fran Robitaille and moved back to Mexico.
After moving back home, he went to work for Oxford Paper Mill as a computer operator. In his free time he enjoyed music, singing, cinema, holidays, and spending time with his family and loved ones.
Marshall and Fran were always active in St John’s Church and he sang in the choir. Marshall dedicated hours volunteering at nursing homes singing, and helping people within his community.
Besides his wife of 54 years, he is survived by three sons, Jeff Ducas of Boston, Mass., Erik Ducas and his wife Kelly of Greene, and Jason Ducas and his wife Ericka of Mexico; six grandchildren; and two great-grandsons. He is also survived by his brother, Donald Ducas of Rumford; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was also the brother of the late Teresa Collins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Friday, Oct. 13 from 4 to 7 p.m. at S.G Thibault Remembrance Center, 250 Penobscot St., Rumford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Oct. 14 at 11 a.m. at St Athanasius Catholic Church, 126 Maine Ave., Rumford. Burial in St John Cemetery, Rumford will follow.
