Marcia Hennessey, along with other parishioners of the United Methodist Church of Auburn, took part in painting the church hall with other members of the congregation. This project took place Sept. 14-15. Submitted photo

Parishioners of the United Methodist Church of Auburn and the Calvery Methodist Church of Lewiston, along with volunteers from the Auburn-Lewiston Rotary Breakfast Club, painted the exterior of the Church Hall wing in Auburn last month.

Two full days and many work hours later, the church has a new, fresh look. Four Pines painting, using a lift, painted the exterior of the church’s tall peaks, according to a news release from the church.

The church, built in 1962, had been painted previously, but the color of the building hadn’t changed in all those years. The color of the paint is called “Park Avenue,” and since the church is located at 439 Park Ave. it seemed to be an appropriate choice.
