Barbara A. Sultan

LEEDS – Barbara A. Sultan of Leeds, Maine died at home on Oct. 6, 2023, after more than two years of ill health. She was married to Robert Sultan for 37 years. They had many adventures together. They enjoyed travelling, camping, canoeing the Allagash, and spending time with family.

She was a graduate of Monmouth Academy and Maine Medical Center School of Nursing. She was a nurse for 40 years at Lovelett Nursing Home and then Montello Manor. She was a bright and gentle nurse. After retirement she worked part time in the Monmouth Schools cafeteria.

She was a den mother for the cub scouts, team mother for Auburn Suburban Little League, and the Women’s Auxiliary. She was a devoted spectator at all of her children’s and grandchildren’s games and events. Her grandchildren loved the giant Christmas stockings she knit for each one. She was a master at crossword puzzles.

Barbara was predeceased by her parents, Martha (Chick) and Fred Kinney, and her brother Donald Kinney.

She leaves behind a clan of saddened family. Her husband Robert Sultan, her three children and their families: Dr. Kristy Murray-Pulsifer (Martha and Max Pulsifer) William and Suzie Murray (Calli and Molly Murray), Jeff Murray (Kyle, Tiffany, Keenan, and Owen Giguere).
