Oxford County Soil and Water Conservation District plans to offer a timber stand improvement and pruning class from 10 a.m. to noon Sunday, Nov. 5.

The class will be held at the Tenmile River Demonstration Forest, located at 600 Notch Road on the Hiram town line in Brownfield.

Maine Forest Service District Forester Mike Richard will talk about best practices with timber stand improvement and pruning.

Participants can also learn about cost share opportunities, tools and other topics. There will be a mixture of walking, talking and potentially practicing with hand tools.

Registration can be found at oxfordcountyswcd.org. This workshop is free, but registration is required. Register no later than Friday, Nov. 3.
