Kennebec Land Trust and Readfield historians Dale Potter-Clark and Bill Adams plan to host a walk at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, to discuss the history of the Rosmarin & Saunders Family Forest and Macdonald Woods.

They will share more information about foundations and families, including the John Dutton family, in the old “West Road neighborhood” where the buildings were inhabited until the early 20th century, according to a news release from the trust.

Attendees will meet at the end of Belz Road in Readfield, walk past the Readfield Town Forest and Macdonald Woods, and then along the old West Road.

The walk is about 2.5 miles round trip.

Hunting is allowed on the property, participants should wear blaze orange.
