Lorraine “Cookie” Bernier
LEWISTON – Lorraine “Cookie” Bernier died at home on Oct. 8, 2023, surrounded by her family after her battle with cancer.
She was born in Lewiston, Maine on June 12, 1952, to Florian and Helen (Roy) Gagnon.
She attended St. Peter’s School and Lewiston High School.
She married Donald Bernier on Sept. 30, 1978. They were happily married 45 years.
Cookie worked for Bates Mill, Aero Hart, Shaw’s, Maine Electronics and then started her own cleaning business.
Cookie’s passions were family, cooking, camping, reading and keeping the peace. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and had a great love for God. She had a big heart and was always willing to help those in need.
Cookie was predeceased by her parents, her brother Andre Gagnon, nephew Christopher Gagnon, and sister-in-law Rita Bernier.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Bernier; daughters, Michelle Poisson and her husband Josh and Nicole “Punky” Bernier; grandchildren, Shae Bernier, Quinn and Cash Poisson; brother Gill Gagnon and wife Kim; sister Gloria “Pom” Foss; brother-in-law Richard Bernier and wife Jane; nephews John Foss and wife Kristi and sons Colter and Gunner, David Bernier and wife Jen and Greg Bernier; mother-in-law Louise Bernier; and uncle Reginal Bolduc.
Memorial Services honoring Lorraine’s life will be celebrated on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at 2 p.m., at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 721 Webster Street, Lewiston, Maine 04240.
