DIXFIELD — Dirigo shut out Traip for the second time this season, winning Friday’s 8-man Small South quarterfinal 33-0.

The second-seeded Cougars (7-1) defeated the seventh-seeded Rangers (1-7) by a 42-0 score on Sept. 22.

Dirigo took control early in Friday’s via four first-quarter touchdown runs. Tanner Bradeen scored the first on a 15-yard scamper. Nathaniel Wainwright followed with the first of his two 25-yard TD runs.

Dakota White ran into the end zone from 18 yards out, and Wainwright added his second 25-yarder to put the Cougars up 26-0.

Dirigo finished the scoring with a 4-yard touchdown pass to Colin Waugh from Hudson Lufkin in the second quarter.

The Cougars advanced to face No. 3 Maranacook in next week’s semifinals. The Black Bears had a quarterfinal bye after injuries forced Telstar to decline their postseason berth.

Dirigo defeated Maranacook 28-22 on Sept. 29.

OXFORD HILLS 26, SANFORD 7: Hunter Tardiff’s three touchdown runs boosted the Vikings (6-2) to a Class A victory over the Spartans (3-4-1) at Gouin Athletic Complex in Paris.

Tardiff opened the scoring with a 3-yard run in the second quarter.

Brayden Murch caught a 16-yard touchdown pass from Brady Truman to give Oxford Hills a 12-0 lead at the halftime break.

Tardiff then put the game away with touchdown runs of 11 and 43 yards in the third quarter, pushing the Vikings’ advantage to 26-0.

Sanford’s Jordan Bissonnette scored on a 30-yard run in the fourth quarter. Bissonnette led the Spartans’ offense with 71 yards rushing on 14 carries.

Tardiff finished with 95 yards rushing on 15 attempts. He also had a sack on defense.

Murch caught four passes for 45 yards, and Nick Binette caught three for 42 yards. Truman finished with 120 yards passing while completing 11 of 26 passing attempts.

Binette intercepted two passes, and Malaki Sparks recovered a fumble.

Oxford Hills racked up 233 yards of offense while holding Sanford to 131.

The Vikings close their regular season slate at Bangor next Friday.

LEAVITT 34, CHEVERUS 14: Noah Carpenter had three rushing touchdowns in the first quarter to stake the Hornets (8-0) to a 20-0 lead as they completed a perfect regular season with a win over the Stags (6-2) in Turner.

Carpenter added a 73-yard scoring run in the third quarter and also connected with Will Keach on a 20-yard touchdown pass.

Giovanni St. Onge had a rushing touchdown for Cheverus and threw a 6-yard TD pass to Preston Fallon.
