Ann Gramstorff Anderson

OXFORD – Ann Gramstorff Anderson, 95, passed Oct. 14, 2023. She was a long-time resident of Oxford, Maine, as well as Andover, Mass. She was born on Aug. 31, 1928, in Winchester, Mass. Ann was the youngest of three daughters to Emil Anton Gramstorff and Grace Mae Cribby in Lexington, Mass. Ann was predeceased by her older sisters Cathy Munday (Oxford, Maine) and Jane Gove (York, Maine).

Ann loved to sing and play the piano. She would visit the wounded in hospitals during and after WWII and sing to them to bring comfort. Ann later volunteered for the Red Cross blood drives and she was also a life-long knitter. She knit bandages for lepers, hats for soldiers as well as slippers for the poor of Oxford, and later the Trinity Jubilee Center of Lewiston.

Ann was predeceased by her loving husband Clarence (Andy) Henry Anderson for 51 years. Both Ann and Andy were charter members of Faith Lutheran Church in Andover, Mass., which has now grown to be the largest Lutheran church in New England. Ann also started the Christmas Bible School at this church.

Ann is survived by her two sons Eric Henry Anderson, and wife Linda Arsenault, of Hebron, and Kurt Gramstorff Anderson, and wife Mona, of Naples, Fla., her daughter Christine Ann Anderson and deceased wife Nancy Owens of Shrewsbury, Mass. Ann leaves five grandchildren: Seth E. Anderson of Mobile, Ala., Amy L. C. Anderson and Luke U. Anderson of Gorham, Kristoffer G. Anderson of Orlando, Fla., and Linnaea A. Anderson, of St. Petersburg, Fla. Ann also leaves three great-grandchildren: Roman Anderson, Aidyn Garrett and John Murray Anderson.
