LEWISTON — Tri-County Mental Health Services hosted its annual meeting Oct. 17 at the Hilton Garden Inn Auburn Riverwatch.

The evening celebrates the agency’s commitment to providing hope, healing and recovery to those most in need in its communities. Each year, TCMHS gives out two awards to acknowledge individuals who share the agency’s passion and support its work.

TCMHS presents the Giving Voice Award to recognize an individual or group of individuals in the community for extraordinary efforts on behalf of its consumers, and the Inspiration Award is given to an outstanding TCMHS employee who demonstrates excellence and exemplary commitment to serving clients and achieving its mission, according to a new release from the agency.

The winner of this year’s Giving Voice Award was Joyce Richmond of Gold Star Mothers, nominated by TCMHS Veteran Liaison Jerry DeWitt. Richmond works to support veterans and their families. She serves on multiple boards, travels to Arlington Cemetery in Washington D.C. and with Wreaths Across America to place flags and wreaths on veteran’s graves, and represents Gold Star Mothers at various conventions and meetings across the state.
