TURNER — Will Keach’s big game highlighted Leavitt’s 59-26 victory over Cape Elizabeth in a Class C South semifinal Saturday.

Keach rushed for a touchdown, caught a TD pass and returned an interception for a score. The top-seeded Hornets (9-0) will host second-seeded Fryeburg (8-1) in the regional final next week.

Keach opened the scoring with a 52-yard run, then made it 14-0 with a 40-yard interception return. He added a 42-yard TD catch in the second quarter as Leavitt, the No. 1 team in the Varsity Maine poll, built a 59-7 halftime lead.

Maddox Demers scored on an 11-yard run in the first quarter for Leavitt. Noah Carpenter threw touchdown passes to Keegan Reny (7 yards) and Aiden Turcotte (4 yards) in the second quarter, and Colten Taylor (2 yards) and Mason Henderson (1 yard) ran for TDs.

Mike Foley stripped the ball and returned it 4 yards for fourth-seeded Cape’s (3-7) only touchdown in the first half and had an 11-yard scoring run late in the game. Tom Hennessey caught two touchdown passes from Brady Inman.

Fryeburg advanced to the C South final by rolling past No. 3 Cheverus 34-15 on Friday. Leavitt defeated the Raiders in the season opener 45-8. Fryeburg has since reeled off eight consecutive wins, all by 19 points or more.

WELLS 42, FREEPORT 7: Eli Potter rushed for four touchdowns in the first 14 minutes, and the top-seeded Warriors (6-3) converted a blocked punt and three turnovers into touchdowns on the way to a Class D South semifinal over the fifth-seeded Falcons (3-7) in Wells.

The Warriors quickly took advantage of two interceptions and a fumble. After opening the scoring with a 9-yard run, Potter plunged in twice from the 1 to make it 21-0 after one quarter, then added a 28-yard TD run early in the second quarter.

Wells’ second interception led to a 47-yard touchdown pass from Brooks Fox to Dyllan Davis. The Warriors got one more TD to increase the lead to 42-0 at halftime, as Riley Murphy recovered a Wells fumble in the end zone.

Freeport avoided a shutout when James Coffin scored on a 1-yard run in the fourth quarter.

Wells will host the regional final next weekend against third-seeded Winthrop/Monmouth/Hall-Dale (7-3), which defeated Oak Hill/St. Dom’s 17-14 on Saturday.
