Le Bon Truc will perform at the Oasis of Music beginning at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 15, at Trinity Church in Lewiston.
Le Bon Truc plays French folk dance music: bourrées, branles, mazurkas, laridés, schottisches, valses, and more. This trio’s beautiful dance music reflects more of what is popular in France today than in our northern neighbor of Quebec. Gary Chapin plays many diatonic accordions, Barb Truex plays Appalachian dulcimer, tenor guitar and banjo-ukulele, and Steve Gruverman plays clarinet, bass clarinet, flute and soprano sax.
The Oasis of Music is a weekly music series of performances of roughly thirty minutes. Admission is free, with donations accepted. The musical genres vary greatly, in largely, but not exclusively, acoustic formats. Trinity Church is located at 247 Bates St., Lewiston. For more information, call 207-344-3106.
