SOUTH PARIS — Stephen Vozzella, 45, loved bowling, cornhole, his two children, his wife and big family.
An active member of New England Deaf Cornhole, he was one of four members of Maine’s deaf community slain while enjoying a night out at a Lewiston restaurant Oct. 25.
It was a few weeks before he planned to celebrate the first anniversary of his marriage to Megan Danforth, his partner for the past 14 years.
“I’ve lost my soulmate, my husband. It really hurts,” his wife told The Daily Moth. “My husband was the best soul I ever had in my lifetime.”
Megan Danforth Vozzella said her husband, a 20-year postal employee, was well-known in the deaf community.
“They watched our humor because we would do pranks and egg each other on,” she said.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Saint Catherine of Sienna church in Norway. A celebration of life will follow in the cafeteria at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School on Main Street in South Paris.
