Arthur L. Allen

PERU – Arthur L. Allen, 65, died unexpectedly in Rumford on Sunday, Nov. 12, 2023. He was a resident of Peru, Maine.

Born in Rumford on Sept. 18, 1958, he was a son of Maurice and Clara (Langevin) Allen. Arthur was a graduate of Mexico High School and he worked for Nine Dragons Paper Mill in Rumford in the Maintenance Department. He was a member of the Hazmat Team and was Chief of the RRT Team in the Mill. Arthur will be remembered as being kindhearted, a gentle giant and larger than life. He enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, and diving.

He was married in Newry on July 23, 2021, to Karen Mann who survives of Peru. Other survivors include his sons, Rory Dupuis of Gardiner, Kyle Dupuis and wife Sherry of Mexico and Joseph Allen of Mexico; his mother Clara Allen of Mexico; stepdaughter Amanda Sinclair and husband Douglas of Mexico; brothers, Dan of Mexico and Matthew of Delaware, a sister, Deborah Allen of Mexico; grandchildren, Payton, Paige, Parker, Jayce, Violet, and Gideon. He was predeceased by his father, a brother Mark, and a sister Lynn Marie.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 17, 2023, at the Parish of The Holy Savior St Athanasius St John Church, 126 Maine Ave, Rumford, ME. Interment will be in St John Cemetery in Rumford. Friends and family are invited to call at the Meader & Son Funeral Home 3 Franklin St Rumford, ME on Thursday from 4 – 8 p.m.
