To the Editor:
The Rotary Club of Bethel is pleased to announce two of our important holiday offerings for members of our community. On Tuesday, December 12, all area seniors are invited to the Annual Senior Luncheon at the Locke’s Mills Legion Hall, beginning at noon time. We are excited to bring this much-loved event back after a hiatus due to Covid. A complete ham dinner, prepared by Friend of the Rotary David Nivus with support from Rotarians, will greet all who attend. There will also be entertainment and surprises for all!

Once again, Rotary will be sponsoring its annual Christmas for Children program. For over thirty years, this important community project has helped to provide greatly appreciated assistance during the holiday season for many needy children and families who live in the MSAD #44 area. In light of the ongoing increases in the cost of basic necessities such as food and fuel, we anticipate seeing an increase in requests again this year.

Anyone interested in donating to this effort is urged to send his or her contribution to:

Bethel Rotary Club Christmas For Children
PO Box 471
Bethel, ME 04217

Requests for assistance may also be mailed to the same address or dropped off at any school office in MSAD #44. Please note that assistance is provided only to families who reside in the MSAD #44 sending area and requests can only be accepted from the parents or legal guardians of the children who live within a primary residence. The Rotary Club is pleased to be able to assist families with support for children up to and including high school age. All requests must include the name and age of each child. A telephone number, email address (if available), and mailing address should also be included.

Following a long-standing tradition, Rotarians will again be collecting donations at Mainely Provisions on Main Street in Bethel over several weekends between now and the holidays.

On behalf of the entire Bethel Rotary Club, we would like to thank the community for the ongoing generosity and support it has shown for this program over the many years of its existence.

Best wishes for a happy and healthy holiday season!

Sincerely,

Jean Benedict & Scott Hynek, Co-Presidents
Bethel Rotary Club
