On Election Day I was relieved to see that we, the voters in Lewiston, had elected city councilors to replace the four who were having backroom meetings.
We don’t need deals being made that are not open to the public and the entire council.
Mayor Carl Sheline had a good showing on Election Day, but since the city of Lewiston requires 50% plus at least one vote to be elected mayor, the election is not over.
Sheline and Jon Connor will have a runoff election on Tuesday, Dec. 12. Early voting has started and is open until Dec. 7.
Mayoral candidate Connor campaigned with the four councilors who were doing the backroom meetings.
I hope residents vote Carl Sheline. Let’s move Lewiston forward.
