Alice Elizabeth DeMoras

WATERVILLE – Alice Elizabeth DeMoras, 86, passed away at Inland Hospital in Waterville on Monday, Nov. 13, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

Alice was born in Turner, Maine on June 4, 1937. She was the daughter of Joseph and Stella (Alden) Libby. She attended Livermore Falls High School where she graduated in 1955.

In 1960 she married her husband John and together they raised three children. She was a homemaker and a devoted wife and mother who also worked at the Norlands Living History Museum in Livermore for a time. She attended North Livermore Baptist church which brought her great joy.

Alice was gifted in many areas, including baking, painting, basket making, cross stitch, and quilt making. She loved to go out to eat, play cards and spend time with her family and friends.

She was predeceased by her brothers, Orville, Alvin, Hamlin, and her sister Iris.

She is survived by her husband, John, of 63 years, her son Greg DeMoras and his wife, Lori, of Janesville, Wis., her daughter, Deb LaPointe and her husband, John, of South Portland, and her daughter, Irene Dineen and her fiancé, Steve Hallee of Winslow, as well as five grandchildren, and 1one great-granddaughter. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews all throughout the country who all meant the world to her. Family was the most important thing in her life.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and hospice workers at Inland Hospital who were so thoughtful and generous at this difficult time.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2023, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., at Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm Street, Waterville, with the service beginning at 12 p.m.
