100 years Ago: 1923

While the road crew in Greene were at work Saturday a large moose crossed the road a short distance in front of them. It was reported that a bear had been reported two or three times in the past week.

50 Years Ago: 1973

Webster and Central Y Teen officers met recently at the Kate J. Anthony House to discuss future activities. The Central officers seated in front are Susan Rogers, president; Jane Farrell, vice president and Marilyn Howe, treasurer. Webster officers in back are Marion Lange, president; Sally Chaplin, vice president; and Belinda Foss, secretary. Wendy Haynes is secretary of Central and Lynn Cummings is treasurer of Webster. Marcia Baxter is the YWCA advisor.

25 Years Ago: 1998

Poland Regional High School Dean of students, Ray Lefreniere announces a four part college planning services dealing with college choices, financing a way of life for secondary students and parents. An overview of the college admissions process will be held at 7pm December 8 at the Poland Community School. The speaker will be William Hiss, vice president for admissions services at Bates College.
