Gilberte Irene Cote

LEWISTON – Gilberte Irene Cote, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2023, at the age of 98 at Russell Park Rehabilitation and Living Center in Lewiston.

Born on July 20, 1925, in Saint-Pascal, Quebec, she was the daughter of the late Marie Bernier and Napoleon Picard.

In 1952, Gilberte married the love of her life, Roger Cote, who predeceased her in 2014. She worked as a stitcher in the local shoe shops.

Survivors include her niece, Laura Patrie of Lewiston, nephews Chad LeBourdais, Jason LeBourdais and Robert (Hap) LeBourdais of Greene; her great-great nephews Kegan LeBourdais of Greene and Luke LeBourdais of Lewiston; and several nieces and nephews in Canada.

Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her niece, Deborah Lafayette LeBourdais; her sister and brother-in- law, Roland and Simone Lafayette; and 12 other siblings.

A committal service will take place in the Chapman Room of Gracelawn Memorial Park, on Monday, Dec. 4 at 11 a.m. Arrangements are under the care of Albert and Burpee Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 253 Pine St., Lewiston, 782-7201.
