HARRISON — Bolsters Mills United Methodist Church, 664 Bolsters Mills Road, has announced its plans for the Advent Season.

Sunday worship services begin at 9 a.m. Each week during worship will be lighting of the Advent Candles, music by Tony Landsperg and David Seeley, a thoughtful message, and a fellowship immediately following worship. Advent Bible Study on Missionaries will be held immediately following Fellowship each week. One does not have to attend all the studies, and can attend as one is able. All are always welcome to join the church, according to a news release from Karen Turino with the church.

On the first Sunday in Advent on Dec. 3, Pastor Bo Jackson-Landsperg will lead the service that includes Holy Communion, The Landsperg and Seeley families lighting the Advent Candle, Children’s Time, and hanging of the Christmas balls with memories of people who have passed away this past year. After Bible Study will be a lunch of soup and bread.

At 2 p.m. Sunday will be a Christmas concert led by Landsperg and Seeley. Refreshments will be served following the concert.

On the second Sunday in Advent on Dec. 10, Michael Eaton will lead the service that will include The Rolfe family lighting the Advent Candle, Children’s Time, and music by Landsperg and Seeley.

At 2 p.m. Dec. 10 there will be a Christmas concert at The Table at 160 Main St. in Norway, led by Landsperg and Seeley. This will be a “coffee house” style concert.

On the third Sunday in Advent on Dec. 17, Pastor Bo Jackson-Landsperg will lead the service that will include The Kimball family lighting the Advent Candle, Children’s Time, music by Landsperg and Seeley, and blessings of the hygiene bags for high school teens experiencing homelessness.

On Wednesday, Dec. 20, there will be a “Service of the Longest Night” at 7 p.m. at The Norway Grange on 15 Whitman St. in Norway offered by the Oxford Hills Area Clergy Association. The service of the longest night is also known as “Blue Christmas,” a reflective service to support those dealing with loss, grief, or anything else preventing them from finding and experiencing the Christmas spirit.

On the fourth Sunday in Advent on Dec. 24, Catherine Orjiako will lead the service that will include The Eaton family lighting the Advent Candle, Children’s Time, and music by Landsperg and Seeley.

On Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, there will be a candle light service at 7 p.m. Landsperg will lead the service that will include The Pike family lighting the Advent Candle, Children’s Time, and music by Landsperg and Seeley.
