REGION — On October 25, members from Norway Savings Bank presented Independence Association in Brunswick with a check in the amount of $1,500. The check was donated as part of a $24,000 energy improvement initiative for their Spring Street group home in Brunswick. The fifty-year-old home does not have energy-efficient windows, and Independence Association is replacing them with new windows to keep the five residents warm this winter and reduce utility costs. Independence Association is still short the amount needed to replace the windows that are original to the home. Independence Association is a non-profit organization that serves people with Developmental Disabilities and Autism. If you are interested in donating to support this group home, reach out to Hilary Hendricks, Director of Philanthropy at hhendricks@iaofmaine.org.
