Mary Elizabeth Bouffard Gideon

LEWISTON – Mary Elizabeth Bouffard Gideon, 59, died Friday Dec. 8, 2023, at home in Lewiston, with her family and best friend Beth by her side. She was a beloved mother, sister, daughter, aunt, nurse and friend.

She was born in Rumford, on April 24, 1964, to Howard “Bill” and Bettina Bouffard. Mary was an accomplished and loving nurse for 38 years. She was selfless and only ever wanted to care for people. She is survived by her three children, Haley, Olivia, and Emma Gideon of Lewiston, her husband, Cain Gideon, her father, Bill Bouffard of Rumford, Anne and Donald Roberts of Sidney, and Michael and Stacy Bouffard of Kittery, nieces and nephew, Hannah, Abby, Jack, Emerson, Avery, and Hayden.

Mary could light up a room with her sense of humor. She loved to make people laugh. She was strong as she fought to the very end. You would never know how sick she was as she was always out and about, keeping busy, crossing things off her to-do list. That was Mary. She enjoyed spending her summers at Roxbury Pond. She loved to collect sea glass and would never pass up an opportunity to buy tulips. Most of all she was happiest surrounded by her three children.

There are not enough words to say how missed Mary will be. She has touched many hearts and will continue to live on in memory.

Friends and family are invited to go online to share memories with the family at http://www.meaderandson.com

A celebration of her life will be held next year. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Meader and Son Funeral Home, 3 Franklin St., Rumford.
