I want to make as fair a comparison as I possibly can. The Congress wasted very little time with addressing the issue of George Santos, without a conviction and overall disgust for what he stood for. A liar and under three indictments.

On the other hand, some 40-plus percent of the Republican Party seem to still be supporting Donald Trump, a man who is known to be a liar, and is under some 90 indictments, for our highest office.

Do they believe that he will escape all of this litigation and walk away unscathed? I don’t think so.

That said, what is the problem with the Republican Party looking into getting a more favorable candidate in place? Do its members really want him in office, or do they not see that he violated the Constitution, which he, and them, have sworn an oath to uphold.

Watching this man manipulate the justice system in the way he does is ridiculous. I have no doubt he will damage the country, given he already has and plans to do more.

His arrogance is too deep to see, that if he loved the country as he says he does, he would back away and leave us to move on. Electing him under these conditions would be the most egregious incident this country will have ever seen.

We would be — and maybe we already are — the laughing stock of the world.
