Johnson Hall plans to present Capital City Improv at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, at Maple Hill Farm Inn, at 11 Inn Road in Hallowell.

Using audience suggestions and interviews, Capital City Improv creates unique, on-the-spot comedy shows.

In 2011, Capital City Improv was “The Dennis Price Comedy Hour” Maine. These early shows were a combination of improv, music and trivia.
As the audience grew, they quickly needed to find a new home! They changed some things around, asked some friends to join in and they became Capital City Improv.
Dennis Price, founder of the group, studied and performed improvisation in Chicago with The Second City and IO Theater (formerly ImprovOlympic). While performing with the IO house team Honeyslide, Dennis watched and worked with some of the best improvisers in Chicago.
Since coming to Maine in 1998, Price has worked as an actor, performer, improviser, teacher, and director. He worked with the Theater at Monmouth for 12 years, and he also was seen at the Penobscot Theater in Bangor and The Public Theater in Lewiston. During the summers from 2012-19, he performed with ImprovAcadia in Bar Harbor.

Tickets cost $20.
