Lucille D. Leclair

LEWISTON – Lucille D. Leclair, 83, of Lewiston passed away on Monday, Jan. 1, 2024, at Central Maine Medical Center.

She was born in Lewiston, on March 26, 1940, and was the daughter of Antonia and Lucia (Simard) Pomerleau. She was educated in local schools and graduated from Lewiston High School Class of 1958. She was married to her loving husband Robert E. Leclair on June 3, 1961, and had 53 wonderful years together before his passing in 2014.

She worked at Bates Mill and waitressed at Carrie’s restaurant. She also spent part of her time as a school crossing guard for Lewiston and cared for children in her home. During her past-time she enjoyed walking, doing search puzzles, especially missing vowels, sewing, ceramics and helping others every opportunity she had including taking care of her husband at home until his passing. She also was a longtime, loyal fan of the Boston Bruins hockey team.

She was a former member of St. Peter’s and St. Paul’s parish and operated Beano for St. Peter’s school for 28 years with her husband. They also enjoyed playing it as well.

She is survived by two daughters, Rachel Bennett and her husband Jason of Crystal River, Fla., and Carol Morin and her husband Mark of Otisfield; two sisters, Doris Levasseur and her husband Normand of North Carolina and Annette Forsman of California and two brothers, Raymond Pomerleau and his deceased wife Rolande of Lewiston and Renald Pomerleau and his wife April of Livermore. She also leaves behind five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one great, great-grandchild who she deeply loved as well as cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by one brother Bertrand Pomerleau of Michigan as well as her parents and two infant daughters, Mary and Melissa who died shortly after birth.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at 11 a.m., at Holy Trinity Church, 67 Frost Hill Ave., Lisbon with committal prayers to follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Lewiston.
