Roland Pelletier Jr.

RUMFORD – Roland Pelletier Jr., 72, died Monday, Jan. 8, 2024, at his residence in Rumford.

Roland was born in Rumford, on April 21, 1951, and was a son of Roland and Helen (LeBlanc) Pelletie, Sr. He was a graduate of Stephens High School in Rumford, the class of 1969. He served in the U.S. Army as SP4 during the Vietnam War. Roland worked as a journeyman mechanic for NewPage Paper Mill in Rumford until his retirement. He was a member of the Eagles, was a Trail Master for the Rumford Polar Bear Club, he was one of the original Western Maine Street Rod members, he loved to travel, restoring cars, and playing cards.

Roland was married in Rumford, on Sept. 15, 1972, to Judy Gourde who survives of Rumford. Other survivors include his son, Thomas and wife Bonnie of Rumford, grandchildren, Logan Viger, Ariana Viger and Thomas Pelletier, Jr., great-grandchildren Raelyn and Faye, sisters, Margaret Hardy and husband Michael of Rumford, Lorraine Milligan and husband Brian of Rumford, and Georgette Hodgson and husband Steve of Rumford. He was predeceased by his twin brother Thomas, brother Paul and a sister Kathleen.

Funeral services will be held 5 p.m., Friday January 12, 2024, at the Meader & Son Funeral Home 3 Franklin St Rumford. Friends and family are invited to call at the funeral home on Friday from 3-5 prior to the funeral.
