Mary Morrissey

LEWISTON — Mary Morrissey has joined the law firm of Skelton Taintor & Abbott as an associate attorney.

Morrissey, who graduated from the University of Maine School of Law this year, was admitted to practice in all Maine state courts Nov. 27. She intends to focus on family law, employment law and general litigation.

“Mary’s unique skill set, responsiveness and genuine interest in what is most important to clients will allow Skelton, Taintor & Abbott to continue to provide our clients with exceptional results and excellent service,” Sarah Mitchell, shareholder and president at Skelton, Taintor & Abbott, wrote in a news release.

Morrissey was a legal intern for the Volunteer Lawyers Project and Sanders, Hanstein & Carey, both in 2021. She was later a legal extern with Friends of Casco Bay, Legal Services for the Elderly, and the ACLU of Maine. In addition, she served as a consultant to the Massachusetts Commission on LGBTQ+Youth, was an academic success teaching fellow at University of Maine Law School of Law, and the editor-in-chief of the Ocean & Coastal Law Journal.
