Susan Irene (Roy) McLamb
ROSEBORO, N.C. – Mrs. Susan Irene (Roy) McLamb, 69, of Roseboro, formerly of Jay and Livermore Falls, Maine, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2024, at her home in North Carolina with her husband. Susan passed peacefully at home with her husband, Thomas, and hospice nurses. Susan was diagnosed with degenerative nerve disease in 2019. She fought a good battle until lately, but she is in a better place and resting now. She was a tough person. Susan was born on July 19, 1954, in Farmington, to the late Raymond G. and Yolande A. (Rheaume) Roy. She attended St. Rose of Lima School and was a 1972 graduate of Jay High School. Through the years she had worked as a waitress at the Chuck Wagon in Livermore Falls and Irving’s in Farmington, she was a teller at various credit unions and later worked for Molina processing insurance claims. Susan enjoyed many things within her lifetime. In her young years, she hitched hiked to California from Maine. She enjoyed playing billiards, she was pretty good, and used to play in tournaments. She loved to cross stitch pictures and she worked with stain glass. She enjoyed working with her lilies out in the yard, always early in the morning before the bugs got out. Within the last few years, she did a lot of puzzles and word searches. She just enjoyed sitting on the back deck in Maine and listening to the birds and hummingbirds. We knew this day would come but not this quickly. All I can say is that I will miss her bug eyes and spending what time she had with her granddaughter, Charlotte May. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Thomas K. McLamb of Roseboro; her stepson, James McLamb and family of Waterville; two sisters, Eva Henry and husband, Gary of Jay; and Diane Hodge and husband, Joe of Windham; her brother, John Roy and wife, Vivian of Rome; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Shirley Cooper of Salemburg; Wanda and Roy Williams of Roseboro; and Linda and Larry Baggett of Godwin; and many nieces and nephews in Maine and North Carolina.
