Sharon Lee Rioux

AUBURN – Sharon Lee Rioux, 80, of Auburn, passed away on Jan. 12, 2024. She was born on March 2, 1943, to Fernand L. Rioux and Elizabeth Goding Rioux. Sharon left the physical world as she lived in it – on her own terms.

Sharon graduated from Edward Little High School in 1961. When her children were older, she pursued her cosmetology license, graduating in 1982 from Mansfield Beauty Academy. Sharon worked as a licensed cosmetologist and hairdresser in many area salons throughout Lewiston-Auburn. Always creating, Sharon also worked as a floral designer.

Sharon had a passion for gardening, birdwatching, and spending time in nature, and especially loved being by the ocean. She also enjoyed reading, sewing, crafting, bowling, and even took flying lessons.

Sharon created many beautiful things with her hands, but her greatest creation was her family. Sharon was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, known for her nurturing nature and devotion to her family, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She was an excellent cook and showed her love by nourishing family through food.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father.

Sharon is survived by her children, Shari Latulippe (Christopher Wiebusch), Kim Herschaft (Victor), Scott Latulippe (Julie), Amanda Link (Fredric); and her sister, Susan Rioux Dyer. She was also a beloved grandmother to Katie (Anthony), Victor, Bethany (Neil), Bryanna, Gabrielle, Julia; and great-grandmother to Myles, Maeve, Parker, and Griffin. Sharon is also survived by her nephews Matthew (Mariah); Adam (Christina, Chase, Cameron); and Ben (Jamie, Jace, Karson).

A celebration of life for Sharon will be held at a later date.

May Sharon Lee Rioux rest in peace, and may her memory forever be a source of comfort and inspiration to those who knew and loved her.
