Jeanne D’arc M. Chainey Blanchette

LEWISTON – Jeanne D’arc M. Chainey Blanchette, 84, passed away peacefully in Lewiston on Jan. 11, 2024.

Jeanne was born in Victoriaville, Quebec, Canada, on Jan. 25, 1939, and was the daughter of Jean-Baptiste and Germaine Paquin Chainey. She was educated in Lewiston schools. She was married to her loving husband Marcel C. Blanchette for 51 wonderful years.

As a member of The Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, Jeanne was known for her commitment to Jesus Christ, being a prayer warrior, and her love for people. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Jeanne is survived by her five children: Gisele and husband Peter Krippner, Claire and husband Steve Martin, Carmen and husband Rodney Landry, Paul and wife Cheryl Blanchette, JoAnn and husband Anthony McDonald; and her sister Muguette Landry. She leaves behind 14 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, as well as cousins and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the wake on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 10 a.m., at the Fortin Funeral Home at 70 Horton Street, Lewiston, with a short service beginning at 12 p.m. Committal prayers will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Lewiston.
