PERU — A driver apparently fell asleep Thursday afternoon, causing his pickup truck to hit two vehicles and a house at 269 Auburn Road, according to the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office.

John Webb, 64, of Milton Township was not injured, according to information Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy James Urquhart received from the shift corporal. Fatigue appears to be a factor, Urquhart said.

Webb’s truck struck two parked vehicles in the driveway before crashing into an outdoor furnace and stopping against the house. One vehicle was totaled. The house was not damaged, he said.

Assisting the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office were crews from the Peru Fire Department and Med-Care Ambulance.
