The city of Lewiston Public Works crews are gearing up for a downtown snow removal “blitz” on Friday, Jan. 19.
Individuals are requested to remove vehicles at 7 p.m. Jan. 19:
• Ash Street from Bates Street to Canal Street;
• Middle Street from Main Street to Oak Street;
• Park Street from Main Street to Adams Avenue; and
• Pine Street from Canal Street to Bates Street
Also on Jan. 19, Public Works will blitz Lisbon Street:
• at 9 p.m. from Adams Avenue to Pine Street and then
• at 11 p.m. from Pine Street to Main Street
If in the downtown beyond 11 p.m., people should park in the municipal garages for no charge from 6 p.m. on Fridays until 6 a.m. Mondays.
Here’s a list of garages:
• Centreville Garage, 62 Canal St.; height for access is six feet, 11 inches
• Chestnut Street Garage, 29 Chestnut St; height for access is six feet, seven inches
• Lincoln Street Garage, 16 Lincoln St.; height for access is seven feet
• Oak Street Garage, 1 Oak St.; height for access is seven feet
• Southern Gateway Garage, 425 Lisbon St.; height for access is seven feet
