Nicole Welch, director of the Lewiston Recreation Department, swore members for the Lewiston Senior Citizens Board at their monthly membership meeting held Jan. 8 at the Senior Center.

Board members are Gerald Frenette, president; Claire Bilodeau, secretary; Cindy Boyd, treasurer; and representatives Maggie Chadburn and Pat Hall.

Members of the Lewiston Fire Department presented information on how and when to use an AED defibrillator, as well as fire safety tips in the home.

Membership in the Lewiston Senior Citizens is open to all residents in Lewiston and surrounding communities age 50 and older. The $15 annual cost for membership includes a monthly mailed newsletter.

The Lewiston Senior Citizens offer a wide range of activities and classes that reflect the diverse interests of its members. Some of their offerings include Bridge Club, Cribbage League, Bingo, Mahjong, Pinocle, and various day and extended trips and tours.

Lewiston Senior Citizens promote a sense of community and well-being through daily contact and recreational activities with peers. Many volunteers are needed and welcomed.
