The dedication of the new organ at the Auburn United Methodist Church will be incorporated into the morning worship service at the Park Avenue church Sunday at 9:30 o’clock. Mrs. Vernon Page, chairman of the organ committee, will participate in the presentation ceremony which will follow the reading of the scripture lesson.
The acquisition of the organ has covered approximately an 11- month period. The Administration Board voted to purchase in February of last year and after a demonstration in the church acquired the Allen Digital Computer Organ.
The United Methodist Women alone raised a sum of $3,450 toward the purchase of the instrument. An anonymous gift of $1,500 and $180 from seven families opened the drive on March 6 and other gifts included one for $500, made by a senior citizen who abandoned her plans for a Hawaiian trip to make it, and included a sum of two dollars sent by a young soldier from his limited funds.
