NORWAY — Fire crews responded to 152 Alpine St. for a mobile home fire Saturday, according to officials.

What started as a small fire on the home’s porch, according to a neighbor’s 4:04 p.m. 911 call, turned into a fully involved blaze minutes later, Norway Fire Chief David Knox said.

Knox said all occupants made it out safely, but the homeowner sustained some first- and second-degree burns while ushering the family dogs out of the home.

The owner said two cats were in the house, but was unsure whether they made it out. Fire crews found no evidence they were still in the home.

The home is a total loss, Knox said.

The cause of the fire is not clear, but it is not being considered suspicious, Knox said. The investigation is ongoing.

The fire created traffic delays in the area, but has since been cleared.
