LEWISTON – Peter John Blake passed away on Jan. 4, 2024. He was born in Windsor Vt. on April 17, 1946, the only child of John Blake and Corinne (Daigle) Blake. Peter was married to Belinda (Foss) in 1974, leaving behind Belinda and his son Christopher.
He attended primary school and high school in Windsor, Vt., graduating with the class of 1964. He and his wife went to alumni barbecues and celebrations, he participated in a parade honoring many former classes of Windsor High.
Peter earned his Bachelor’s degree from Lyndon State in Vermont, his Master’s in Education from the University of Maine-Orono, and a Secondary Certificate of Advanced study Computers for Educators.
Peter enjoyed playing golf at his home course, the Windsor country club, at Lyndon State he was a member of the golf team. He and his wife enjoyed many courses throughout New England and were members at Summit Club and Martindale. They also had a “golf-vacation” to Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia. He liked to putter around the house, accumulate tools, and spend hours at the computer.
He was an elementary teacher for 33 years, teaching 5th grade and then 3rd grade at McMahon Elementary in Lewiston. He was instrumental in establishing the computer lab at McMahon and coached the Boys basketball team for a few years. Peter has been fondly remembered by his former students, both locally and those from afar.
As to his wishes, there will be no funeral.
