Frank Nelson Clifford

ANDOVER – In loving memory of Frank Nelson Clifford, who passed away unexpectedly at 69, on Jan. 19, 2024, while enjoying time snowmobiling with friends in Northern Franklin County.

Born on Feb. 15, 1954, in Hartford, Conn. to Leonard Sumner Clifford and Ruby Hazel Whitman Clifford, Frank’s journey took him to Colorado, where he graduated from Longmont High School in 1972 as an Eagle Scout. He worked at the Coors factory in Golden before becoming a skilled carpenter.

In 2004, Frank moved to Maine for a more peaceful life, working at the Bethel Inn and Resort until his retirement. Standing at 6 foot 7 inches, Frank was a gentle giant who loved hunting, snowmobiling, gardening, and conversations with friends. Despite not having a family of his own, his friends became his extended family.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters Joanne, Wilma Jean, and Patricia Evelyn.

He is survived by his brother, David; nieces, nephews; and close friends.

A celebration of Frank’s life will occur in the spring, and he will be laid to rest at the Town House Cemetery in Newbury, Vt. His memory will live on in our hearts.
