NORWAY — This Lunar New Year starts Feb. 10 and is the Year of the Dragon. Sherri Otterson, president of the Maine Dragon Boat Club, invites people who would like to join the Dragon Boat Club to meet weekly on Wednesdays in February and March.
Dragon Boating is the ultimate team sport, consisting of a drummer, steersperson, and 20 paddlers who work together in unison to move the boat forward quickly and smoothly on Lake Pennesseewassee. It is low cost, easy to start, increases overall fitness, and improves mental health.
The first meeting is on Feb. 7 at 5:30 p.m. in the teen room at Norway Memorial Library. For club information, please send an email to Sherri at [email protected] or call (207) 890-7367.
For display information, please visit the library’s website at www.norwaymemoriallibrary.org or call 743-5309 ext. 1.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
You can read more here about our commenting policy and terms of use. More information is also found on our FAQs.
