Mondays – Ernie Steward is a technology professional with many years of experience. He will be here every Monday to provide technology assistance. Wondering how to use your new cell phone or tablet? Did you just get a new laptop with software you don’t understand?

Perhaps you have a medical or health question and you are wondering how to use Telehealth? Maybe you would like to set up a social media or email account? Ernie can help you with these sorts of issues and more.

This community outreach program is being brought to you by the combined efforts of Spruce Mountain Adult Education, Greater Franklin Economic and Community Development, and your local library.

On Friday, Feb. 9  at 10:30 a.m., we have our weekly story time and playgroup led by our Children’s Librarian, Lindsey Hopkins.

On Saturday, Feb. 10, we will be holding a Paint Pouring “Crafternoon” Activity at 12:30. Don’t know what Paint Pouring is? Paint Pouring is a painting technique where acrylic paint is mixed with a pouring medium and then poured on a canvas or other surface.

The Career Center is on the move…On Monday, Feb. 12, Alana Ranney from the Career Center will be here from 1:30-3 p.m., to help folks with Resume writing, job searching, interviewing, locating an apprenticeship, training and education, federal bonding information, and more.

Knit-Tea-The second Tuesday of every month (This month Feb 13), Jenn Ladd, our Circulation Librarian, holds a knitting group upstairs from 5-6 p.m. Tea and hot chocolate are available. Bring your favorite mug and a knitting project of your choice.

Love Your Library Kick-off Event for Our Annual Appeal Campaign – come to the library on Feb. 14 , Valentine’s Day, donate, and receive a Valentine to post in the library telling us why you Love Your Library or anything you want.

Jay-Niles Memorial Library Friends will be on hand that day to take donations, chat with people, and hand out boxes of conversation hearts. Our annual appeal will run from Feb. 14  until the end of March. You may also donate online from our website @ www.jaynileslibrary.com, send a donation to Jay-Niles Memorial Library, P.O. Box 59, Jay, ME 04239, or stop by during the hours we are open.

Friday, Feb. 16,  at 10:30 a.m. -Join us for story time with Sal the Dog (from Love on a Leash) at 10:30 a.m.

Saturday, Feb. 17 , from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., The Jay-Niles Memorial Library Friends Group will have a booth at the Children’s Festival at Mt. Blue High School where there will be bookmarks to color and free books.

Lego Party-Come join us during school vacation week on Feb. 22 from 1:30-4:30 p.m. (drop-in any time) for our Lego party. We have lots of Legos as well as Duplo Blocks for the little ones. We will be showing the second Lego Movie during the day.

Friday, Feb. 23, at 10:30 a.m. is Story time and Play Group. Also on Feb 23, is Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) for Adults at 6 p.m.

Saturday, Feb. 24, D&D for Tweens and Teens at 10 a.m.

Wednesday, Feb. 28, Book Club for Adults- on select Wednesdays at 6 p.m. Participants come and grab a book ahead of time.

Some months we will do a book and movie group where we read the book, watch the movie and compare and contrast them; other months we may read a Maine book, a classic, or a fabulous new book.  Come to the library for a schedule.
