The Lewiston Youth Advisory Council invites its peers to answer the question “What are you passionate about?” and to think about their future during an upcoming forum.

The Dream Project Forum is set for 5:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12, at Tree Street Youth, 144 Howe Street in Lewiston; attendance is free.

The council designed the forum to let Lewiston students know that they can reach their dreams not only in their sleep but through goals and aspirations for their future.

“We hope to inspire attendees to begin thinking about their future and help them further understand their endless potential,” said Ava Golder, LYAC chair, in a city news release.

LYAC members will share their own stories about planning for the future to connect with other youth who may have concerns, fears, or worries about how to achieve their goals or perhaps hesitant to even set goals.

In addition, local professionals will briefly share their journey to success and encourage youth to pursue what they are passionate about. LYAC members will also facilitate an open conversation for attending youth to ask questions of members and the professional speakers.

Other aspects of the forum include an interactive exchange where clues for specific careers are given to the audience to guess; access to helpful community and college information; and free journals for youth with pens inscribed with inspirational messages.
