At night in bed, pre-sleep, when it’s just me and the Lord, I thank him for allowing me to grow up in a post-World War II middle class Lewiston, Maine, neighborhood that, to me, was taken right out of the pages of the Saturday Evening Post.

Back when life was a lot simpler, peaceful and less contentious.
