Gabrielle C.G. Demoras

LEWISTON – Gabrielle C.G. Demoras, 88, of Lewiston, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2024. She was born on Oct. 9, 1935, the daughter of Octave and Alice (Laliberte) DeMoras in Livermore. Gabrielle was educated in local schools.

After her graduation she worked as a housekeeper for the Catholic Church cleaning the rectories and also at Bates College. She participated in prayer groups at the churches and during her time at D’ Youville Pavilion. Gabrielle loved to research her family history doing her genealogy on both sides of the family and passing them on to other family members. She loved going to social events and was always attending anything they had happening at D’Youville.

Gabrielle is survived by her brother John DeMoras and sister Marguerite Moras; several nieces and nephews,; as well as many friends that she made along her time. She was predeceased by her parents.

The family invites you to a time of visitation on Monday Feb. 12 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at The Fortin Group Funeral Home, 70 Horton St, Lewiston ME. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday Feb. 13 at 11 a.m. at Basilica of SS Peter and Paul, Ash St, Lewiston. Committal will be in the spring at Holy Cross Cemetery in Livermore.
