Michelle M. Foerster

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Michelle Massey Foerster, 62, of St. Petersburg, Fla. passed away peacefully on Feb. 4, 2024. Michelle was born on Oct. 12, 1961, in Lewiston, Maine, to Dianne Massey (Colby) and the late Roger Massey.

Beloved wife of Chris Foerster and the loving mother of Kathleen, Jake (Terecia Baker), and Micah Foerster. Michelle is also survived by her sister, Nina (John) Cowan, and brothers, Greg (Lisa Thibault) Massey and Kevin (Kelley) Massey; mother-in-law, Lucinda Foerster (Boggs); sister-in-law Carla Hass; mother and father in-law Tom and Mary Jane Napper; brother-in-law Tom (Cat) Napper, sisters-in-law Michelle (Greg) Schumacher, Angela (Dan) Feye; in addition to nieces and nephews whom she adored. Michelle is preceded in death by her father-in-law, Richard “Dick” Foerster.

After graduating from Edward Little High School in Auburn, Maine (1979), she continued her education at St. Mary’s School of Nursing (1982), becoming a Registered Nurse. Michelle continued her education later in life, earning her BSN from the University of Phoenix in 2016.

Michelle’s vocation as a nurse was a reflection of her calling to serve, with a career spanning four decades. She treasured her time working with children at 5th Avenue Pediatrics, before earning her certification in Addiction Studies and spending several years touching the lives of those battling addiction through her work at Tranquil Shores. Her most recent years were spent serving retired priests of the diocese of St. Petersburg. Her dedication to the wellbeing of others was a mirror of her compassionate spirit.

In her free time, Michelle enjoyed cheering on her favorite sports teams, the San Francisco 49ers and the Boston Red Sox. She had a green thumb and took great pleasure in gardening. She especially cherished time spent with her family, including beloved family pets, Nash and Jimmy. Michelle was actively involved in St. Petersburg Catholic High School, serving on the school’s Consultative Board and commemorated as the ultimate ‘Team Mom’ with a plaque at the SPC Baseball field.

As a devout member of St. Raphael’s Catholic Church, Michelle lived a life steeped in faith, embodying the virtues of humility and grace. She was known for her selfless nature and unwavering devotion to friends and family. Michelle never knew a stranger, embracing everyone she met with open arms and a bright smile.

The family invites those who were touched by Michelle’s unwavering light to attend visitation at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 16, 2024, at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church, with a funeral mass to follow at 11 a.m. A Celebration of Life will continue the remembrance of Michelle’s legacy from 12 – 2 p.m. at The Birchwood. The family asks that any flower orders be sent to St. Raphael’s by 10 am on the day of service.

Michelle’s life was a home run, and she’ll be forever cheering us on from the best seat in the house!
