Johnson Hall’s “On the Road” Stand-Up Comedy Series presents JJ Jones at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17, at The Blind Pig Next Level in Gardiner. Hosted by Mark Turcotte, the show will also feature Dennis Price, Tim Hofmann, and Derek Cote.
Each show features at least 3 comedians and runs about 90 minutes. These performances are intended for mature audiences and will contain adult language and content. Ages 21 and up only.
Jones’ everyman approach has been a hit at notable venues like Boston’s Orpheum Theater and Rhode Island’s Comedy Connection. He’s a Colorado transplant and a Massachusetts-based stepdad whose unapologetically sarcastic style has earned him opening spots for nationally touring comedians like Lenny Clarke, Bobby Kelly, and Jim Florentine.
Price is an actor, performer, improviser, teacher, and director. He studied and performed improvisation with the renowned Second City in Chicago. He’s also the founder of Capital City Improv and teaches theater at Winthrop High School.
Hofmann recently won the Tightest Five comedy contest, earning him an upcoming televised spot on The Nite Show with Danny Cashman and Cote is a musically and comedically gifted performer with hilarious material woven into original songs.
The show is intended for mature audiences and will contain adult language and content. Ages 21 and up only. Johnson Hall’s Stand-Up Comedy Series shows feature at least 3 comedians and run about 90 minutes.
Advance tickets may be purchased at johnsonhall.org. Tickets are $22 for all seats. This is a general admission show. The Blind Pig Next Level is located at 11 Mechanic St., Gardiner. Parking is available on Water Street, Mechanic Street, and in the Arcade Parking Lot off Main Street.
