REGION — The Jay, Livermore, Livermore Falls Chamber of Commerce is holding a photo contest through Friday, March 8, to find the cover photo for the 2024 area guide.

The theme of the contest is “What does community mean to you in the Jay, Livermore, Livermore Falls area?”

The contest is spearheaded by Vice-Chair Courtney Michaud of Spruce Mountain Adult & Community Education. Those interested in the contest can submit their photos to Michaud at cmichaud@rsu73.com.

Once submitted, photos will be taken and uploaded to the JLLF Chamber of Commerce Facebook page at www.facebook.com/jllfcoc for voting. The chamber of commerce will set a time frame for voting and the photo with the most likes will be declared the winner with their name featured with the winning photo on the 2024 area guide.

The Livermore Falls Advertiser reached out to Michaud with additional questions regarding the contest.

What type of content are you looking for, and what would you like to avoid as much as possible?

For content, we are just looking for something that goes along with the theme “What does community mean to you in the Jay, Livermore, Livermore Falls area?” This could be a scenic view, a group of friends enjoying an event, or maybe even people volunteering for someone local. Anything you think resonates with that theme.

Do the photos have to be recent, or can they be photographed over the last year?

It doesn’t matter the time frame; it could be something from the past, even a historical photo.

Is this exclusive to residents in the JLLF area, or can other communities participate?

This is open to anyone; it would be nice for them to be a resident of the JLLF area, but we will accept any entries. The voting is open to anyone who likes our Facebook page, so why not?

Additionally, Michaud added this is the chamber of commerce’s first year in holding a contest for the cover photo, stating “We are just trying to get more photos for the area guide, so even if your photo doesn’t win, it can still be seen in the area guide.”

“Hopefully, we will have a good turnout,” she stated.
